A person who has been an inspiration to me is my English teacher at junior high school. He lived in the same hometown as me. He taught me English when I was a first year student at junior high school and he said he loved teaching English. This is why I think he teaches students English. However, I have not kept in touch with him since I graduated from junior high school so I don’t know exactly what he does or where he lives now. He taught me a lot of things and inspired me.
First of all, when I entered junior high school and took an English class for the first time in my life, I was very nervous and worried if I could catch up with the class. This is because I didn’t know what English is or how to write an alphabet and use it at that time. However, my English teacher taught me English kindly and whenever I had questions, he listened closely to my questions and answered them. I was encouraged to study English hard by him.
Second, he told me joy of learning English. There were ten minutes to listen to English music and watch English movies at the end of a class. He explained about expressions which are used in the movies or music. In addition, sometimes he told me about cultures outside of Japan. I became interested in foreign cultures. I have been listening to songs and watching movies in English since I started taking his class even if I don’t know the meanings of words or phrases.
Third, he told me his own experience in other countries. He visited many countries as a student and tourist so he had a lot of experience and knowledge of foreign countries and cultures. Especially, I strongly remember the story of his study abroad experience. The most vivid memory of his story was his first study abroad in Canada. He met many people from all over the world and said that his life totally changed. I was never bored with his stories. After listening to his story, I had wanted to study abroad and I could finally come here to study.
In conclusion, if I had not met him, I would not have been interested in foreign cultures and wanted to study abroad. I might not study English hard. I’m sure that he has been a strong impact on my life. I want to be a person who can let someone get interested and inspire someone else with a lot of fun like him in the future.

My Teacher Linda

My Teacher Linda

My senior school teacher who is called Linda has inspired me a lot since I studied at high school. She lived in the countryside while she taught me. However, she was usually the first teacher who came to the office. She often wears a white T-shirt with dark blue trousers which makes her a little bit strict. When I entered my classroom on my high school orientation day, she was wearing those clothes as well, which has given a deep impression. Now I will refer to three reasons why I have been significantly inspired by her.

One reason is that she put her trust in me which encouraged me to do my best. Because of my weak performance in my entrance exam, I did not become a member of the top class. Still, she elected me as a monitor to manage our class when I volunteered my service. I thought that my enthusiasm probably affected her. Fortunately, I became an example, which other monitors who come from different classes came to learn how I manage classes and organize activities, in my high school because of her trust.

Another is that she paid attention to cultivate me in terms of public speaking skill. Before taught by Linda, I frequently used pet phrases when I spoke to others especially in the public. My first time to give a speech on behalf of freshman was brought about by Linda’s recommendation and she couched me patiently for two hours per day after classes. For example, she taught me how to control the rhythm and keep an eye contact to the audience. Every time I think of my first speech as a presenter in that orientation ceremony, the memories come flooding back.

Becoming my mentor is the third reason, for she has helped me greatly. When I am confused or dejected, she usually encourages me to be brave and calm. For instance, I could not understand English classes when I came to New Zealand to study English, and want to give up studying immediately. However, her company and stimulation have influenced me to face and solve difficulties positively. I can communicate more confidently than before. Although we do not meet as often as before, she has already become my mentor.

In conclusion, if I had not met her, what would have happened? I believe I might not be the brave, enthusiastic and confident person at present.

PERSON WHO HAS BEEN AN INSPIRATION TO ME

One of the persons who has inspired me most is Mrs Dau Nguyen, a teacher at secondary school in the northern region of Vietnam. I first met her when I moved to grade 8 at Thuyson Secondary School. She was our homeroom teacher.

When I was at secondary school, Vietnam educations especially in the North were so different than what you see today. Teachers were the only ones with privileges to talk and give conclusions in class. Students were educated to strictly follow orders and do exactly what they were told to do. No questions or comments were welcomed.

My class was very lucky to see Mrs Dau and to have her as our homeroom teacher. She was so different from others in this era of principle and punishment schools. By giving students chances to prove themselves and encouraging them to speak out and to ask questions, my classmates and I made amazing advancement in just a couple terms.

Despite the negative comments and conclusions of previous teachers, she was the one recognised the potential capabilities of pupils and always believed her pupils could made progress under her instruction.

Not only doing an awesome work in class, she spent time seeing every single student’s home in order to better understand as well as raised fund to help poverty family. As a result, one of my neighbourhood friends could continue studying and complete high school.

I was considered a naughty boy with a pre-intermediate level of study when I first met my teacher. Thanks to her guidance in the last 2 years at secondary school, I made progress not only in studying which I jumped to top 3 of class but also in behaviour and responsibility. My life would have been going in another direction if I had not met her.

The person who really inspires my life is my dear father

My father was born in the year 1945 in a remote village in Haiphong province, in the north of Vietnam.  He married in 1970. He has three sons and one daughter. I am the second son and born in 1974. His main job is a farmer: cultivating rice and raising pig, chicken.

Why my father has inspired my life? There are a number of reasons as follows:

Firstly, I am luckily present on earth because he is my father. He gave me life that is the most important and valuable thing I have. It means “no father, no son”.

Secondly, because my family has been living in a remote and poor area, the schools and teachers are very limited. He taught me and my brothers from the beginning, for example reading, writing as well as simple math during our childhood. In addition, he gave how to do the farming work, one of his most loved things, such as rice cultivating, raising buffalos, pigs and chickens. That is the first learnt lesson I never forget in my life.

Thirdly, He is a disciplined person because he served in the army from 1965 to 1969. Therefore the mandatory requirements have affected his character. His character and his teaching help me a lot for my current management’s work.

Finally, He is a hard working person and contributed his whole life for his family.  Now, everything I have, such as the better education and the high in come job, the majority parts he brought to us. He has sacrificed for his children and his family.

Thank you very much dear Dad. Your life, your responsibility and your love for the family have truly inspired me in the path of my life.

My Dream Adventure

My dream adventure is round-world-trip by bicycle and staying at tent by myself. I think this travel will spend about 2 years. The aim of this travel is to make friends with many people to exchange each other's experience. When I am 70 years old, I wish I will leave Japan and arrive at the U.S.. Moreover I'm planning to come back to Japan via South America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania. Absolutely the bike or tent will be broken or I will be killed by some animals. However if I think positively, nothing is scared.
Surely it is important to have a big dream, but I need to see current situation. I have a lot of things to do such as to save money and to improve my English skill and abilities of overcoming difficulties. I think in the distant future, to do things I want to do, I need to prepare from now. I also think with many experience, I will tackle many problems.
Therefore when I grow up as a mature man, I 'd like to do a round-world-trip by bicycle by myself.

a dream adventure

At first, I was going to write down about a dream journey such as going to future or past, but there was a constraint that I have to use an air plane. Then, I'm ganna plan about my journey to Spain.
Spain has a lot of sightseeing like Sagrada Familia, The Alhambla and Generalife Gardens and the Great Mosque and is the third country which has quite a few world heritage sites next to Italy and China. In addition to that, Spain has many famous artists like Dali and Picasso. So we can enjoy seeing stuffs which is likely in another world. Moreover, Spain is known as the country which is famous for delicious food like paella. I wanna try to taste them and cook.
The reason I wanna have a trip to Spain isn’t only such visible cultures, but also their unique way of thinking and mind. Spanish people like to be passionately and tell their love directly, and also, they use their time flexibly especially on work. It looks comfortable and quite a different from Japanese cultures, so I envy them:( I wanna experience such life and be open minded more than now!
But the difference of culture like how using time or what measures they take to communicate with others may make me confused. I don’t know whether I can accept myself to such way of thinking or not. In addition to that, also there is a language barrier so I should learn at least how to say hello and introduce my name in Spanish haha.
Although there are some problems, I really wanna visit there, because they must be a learning experience and let me expand my points of view.
Probably, as I think I’ll miss Japanese food or my family if I go to travel longer, I wanna enjoy my dream adventure in a short term:)

A Dream Adventure

After graduating from University, I extremely want to climb K2, at 8,611 meters above sea level, which is the second highest mountain in the world. It is located on the China-Pakistan border between Baltistan and China. One of the reasons I choose K2 instead of Qomolangma to ascend is that there are not many climbers to go there. In particular, only 367 people have completed the ascent until June 2018. Another is that K2 is the farthest mountain from the area of human being activities.
‘Traveling off the beaten track’ is my motto. I definitely believe that this trial run of climbing on K2 will be a valuable learning experience, in terms of challenging my endurance and perseverance. I am immediately keen to set off on the epic journey.

My dream tour requires me to have driver’s license and a lot of money. I want to visit famous place in Europe. It is obvious that Europe has many places to visit and I can't visit all of them for only four months. I don't have any particular place that I want to visit because I don't know much about famous places in these four countries. But I think staying for a month in each country is enough to travel. If I need more time to stay, I can extend the duration. Each country has own language so I may face to language trouble to communicate with someone. But translator will help me solve the problem and I think I might solve by myself by using English

English teachers in the future

MURATA Yukine 20/09/19
I believe there will be a need for English teachers in the classroom in twenty years. I have three reasons to substantiate my opinion.
Firstly, English teachers give their students practical conversation skills, for example, better pronunciation, ungrammatical phrases in fashion, and body language like expressions. We can notice the importance of throwing in appropriate words and nodding assent to other people’s ideas. Learning gestures will bring improvement students’ speaking.
Secondly, technology provides us many methods to teach and to learn, however, devices cannot create various expressions come from their hearts as humans do. It is because machines do not have their own hearts, though they have intelligence. On the other hand, there are various ways to represent our feelings, and they depend on our personalities. It is essential for students to learn through being exposure to diverse representations such as sighs, laughs, and frowns. Students will be able to tell their characters.
Lastly, the post-IT era will come in twenty years. I presume that we will revaluate communication without virtual environment in the future. According to Albert Mehrabian’s examination, we judge vague messages from visual and auditory senses more than from verbal expressions. As evidences to guess the feelings of speakers, words account for 7%, tone of voice constitutes 38%, and body language amounts to 55%. These figures indicate the importance of seeing each other. Because IT omits some of these kinds of information, so it cannot beat real conversations.
Thus, I expect that we will have a need for English teachers in the classroom in two decades. The primary reason is the weightiness of conversation face to face. Even if technology enables us to ‘telecommunicate’ in better circumstances and to be taught by more developed machines, we will chose flesh and blood teachers in order to share the atmosphere of the classroom.

Essay about a Need for English Teachers

I do not think there will still be a need for English teachers in twenty years’ time. That is because robot teachers have already been introduced in Korea and they will be updated from now on.

They are not useful now possibly because when they are asked questions, they may not answer because they may not have much information about grammar and so on. But they will be updated many times by engineers. Just as so far engineers have updated computers over many years.

In the computer’s history, for example, MITS (a company in U.S.A.) sold personal computers for the first time in the world in 1975 .They were very big and heavy to carry. But within the next twenty years, a mouse was introduced and spreadsheet software such as Lotus 1-2-3 was introduced and word processing software such as WordPerfect was introduced and Internet Explorer was introduced and Java (a programming language) was introduced. In this way, many functions were introduced and also computers became much lighter and cheaper.

I think such dramatic improvements in robotics will be achieved by engineers in the next twenty years.  Thereby, English robots will input a lot of information about grammar by gathering questions asked by students and will do other tasks. For example, they will be able to listen to what students say and search information about that in their memories .They will be able to make tests by information in their memories and check questions from students and speak in each lesson and speak well by programming too. It is expected that they will be able to teach on their own.

In short, English robots are not useful now but engineers will make a lot of efforts and improve them, so they will be useful in twenty years and there will not be a need for English teachers then.

Are people who choose to avoid technology at a disadvantage compared to people who use technology often?

Judy

Are people who choose to avoid technology at a disadvantage compared to people who use technology often?

It is widely accepted that more and more people rely on technological products, such as smartphones, televisions and cars. I believe people who avoid technology are at a disadvantage compared to people who usually utilise it. Technology has made our life more efficient and convenient than before, although it also brings environmental contamination.

Nowadays, the development of technology renders people’s life more efficient. Many sophisticated devices have appeared in various plants which enable employees to produce more products in less hours when using simple instruments. In addition, it accelerates the pace of life in different ways, for example, employees can work at home with computers instead of going to their companies, which allow workers to save commuting time.

Secondly, it is technology that provides convenience of life style. For example, in the past, Chinese commuters had to suffer from traffic jams, whereas now they have convenient public transportation, like buses, subways or high speed trains. Furthermore, new technological payment patterns largely reduce customers’ hotel check out time, and it is especially useful for businessmen who are always in a hurry. For instance, Applepay, Weixin and Alipay apps can be used to complete payments in seconds. Therefore, people prefer to choose the new modes of payment.

Finally, even though technology developments have changed humans’ lives, the natural environment has been polluted in this process. For example, factories have been built in the city centre and countryside, which lead to air pollution, such as, waste gas is released by thermal power plants.

In conclusion, technology has more advantages than disadvantages for us. I think an individual should try to utilise technologies to make one’s life better. I do believe that the era of technology is on the way.

Are people who choose to avoid technology at disadvantage compared to people who use technology often?

These days, technology is getting more and more important. Moreover, people who can’t use technology remain in the current era, so I think all people need to learn how to use several kinds of technology. I also think people who choose to avoid technology at a disadvantage mustn’t be compared to people who use technology. I say so for two reasons which are respecting their individualities and thinking objectively.

First, people who often use technology need to respect their individualities of people who choose to avoid technology at a disadvantage. If they experienced bad things such as political powers, they would also choose to avoid technology. I think when people compare with others, they justify themselves and complain about different points from themselves. I also think it is important not to compare but to understand each other. If they think about their background correctly, they can’t compare simply.

Second, people who often use technology need to think objectively. For example, in China, people can’t use Twitter and Google because the government of China controls a lot of information. Also in other countries, even if people can use any technology, they mustn’t use it because of political power. If you use any technology, you may be arrested. Therefore, a strong relationship exists between technology and political power. I’d like to ask people who compared to them and people who choose to avoid technology at a disadvantage, “Do you think about some political systems?”

Surely, using technology is very important and if people can’t use technology, it is difficult to live comfortably. However, some people who can’t use technology due to a disadvantage think it’s useful, so I think people should change the way of thought of comparison into finding some ways people all over the world can use technology such as making easy manuals or construct ICT and they must spread how to use it.

Therefore, I think people who choose to avoid technology at a disadvantage mustn’t be compared to people who use technology often.

Will English teachers be replaced by technology?

I think English teachers will still be needed in twenty years’ time.   I know that robots will become more intelligent in the next ten years and education through digital devices will be more popular because of its convenience.  If we can learn English from them, we won’t have to pay for English teachers or go to school.  However, is this good for education?  I don’t think so.  In the next paragraph, I will mention the disadvantages of discharging English teachers, and weak points of robot teachers and mobile English.

There are three reasons why human beings should teach English in the classroom.  First, if we install technology in education, it would take away jobs from humans.  This is the most important part of this argument.  Of course, we have to learn not only language itself but also how to communicate with other people.  And now, robot teachers cannot teach communication because they don’t have feelings.   But, what if robots were able to teach natural English someday?  I’d rather people taught English than robots.  Otherwise, they will lose their jobs and become spiritless.  Excessive evolution will lead to ruin, as in the Terminator.   Second, although robots teachers won’t have to be paid for their work, they will require regular maintenance so they won’t have the economic advantage over human English teachers.   Third, we should be pressured by study to an extent.  There is no doubt that mobile learning is more freedom than education by teachers in the classroom, but learning English sometimes requires patience; memorizing many words and understanding difficult grammar.  If people are learning without teachers and don’t have a strong will to learn, they might give up learning English.

Technology makes our life convenient, we can buy everything and communicate with people around the world on the internet.   I love technology.  But, from the viewpoint of education, there are still so many things that only human beings can.  So we can definitely say that education by people won’t be replaced to by robot teachers.

Choose to avoid technology

I don’t think people who choose to avoid technology are at a disadvantage compared to people who use technology often. Of course, it is inconvenient for those who choose to avoid technology, because they miss the latest information and fail to keep up with the trends. People may laugh at them as they are out of date, but there are more advantages in avoiding technology. I will explain three of them to you.

First, those who avoid technology can escape from a flood of information. Almost all technologies relate to information like radio, TV, the Internet and cellphones. When they avoid such technologies, they can be free from a confusion about what to choose.

Second, those who avoid technology can easily concentrate. Those who use technology usually do multitasking. While they write their reports, they check e-mails, listen to music and respond to phone calls. Multitasking seems to be efficient at first but it prevents people from concentrating on their primary tasks. In my case, when I studied for my university entrance examinations, I avoided using my iPhone. I could quickly concentrate on my study because my outdated phone had only simple functions.

Finally, those who avoid technology can keep going at their own pace. They can finish their tasks efficiently without distracting technologies and then they can enjoy their favorite time while listening to music, reading books and going to the theatre or cinema. I often remember the days when I didn’t have a smartphone. I could enjoy reading without any worrying about friends’ messages.

In this modern society, we can’t avoid technology completely and we need a lot of self-control to avoid it. However, people who choose to avoid technology can lead better lives.

Teachers in the Future

These days, because of highly developed technology, our lives are becoming better. Therefore, I think there will be less need for English teachers in the classroom in twenty years’ time and technology such as tablets and robot teachers will be required instead of ordinary teachers. There are three main reasons to support my opinion. They are based on teachers’ current situations and conditions.
First of all, English teachers have to be able to speak fluently with accurate pronunciation.  However, in my experience, we didn’t use English in the classroom at junior high school and high school because the teachers didn’t use English or give us opportunities to use English in the classroom. On the other hand, tablets and robots can teach English to students with precise pronunciation and give the chance to use English by using apps like Skype.
Second, not only English teachers but also teachers who teach other subjects generally work under bad conditions. Teachers have a lot of tasks such as making class materials and taking care of their students. This is because teachers don’t have enough time to prepare for their classes. However, once teachers set up a teaching program in tablets and robots, they can use it over and over again. By doing so, teachers can reduce their burdens and do something else they have to do while the robots are teaching.
The last reason pertains to independent study. Students have to ask teachers questions during classes if they really want to solve inquiries. In an English classroom in twenty years’ time, small devices like tablets can be carried easily and students can bring and use them to read and listen to English everywhere. Students will also be able to search for answers on the Internet at any time when they have questions.
In conclusion, technologies will be more developed than today. Some high schools in Japan make their students buy tablets to use in class. Tablets and robots can give students effective ways of learning English and ease teachers burdens. I think highly developed technologies may take the positions of ordinary teachers away. If English teachers are needed, they will just support their students such as an advising how to study and answering students’ questions. I think they will no longer teach English to their students.

English teachers in the future

Topic:

1. Will there still be a need for English teachers in the classroom in twenty years’ time?

I think there will be a need for English teachers in the classroom in twenty years’ time. In my opinion, human English teachers are better not only for students but also for English schools than robot English teachers or studying English by a phone. There are the following three reasons.

First, human English teachers can take care of students one by one. For example, if there is a student looking troubled about some English questions, they can find and teach him what he doesn’t understand one on one. Also, if a student wants to talk to a teacher about some trouble in his English, only a human teacher can listen to his talk, think and give him some advice which suits him. On the other hand, robot teachers can’t do this. Even if a student has difficulty, a robot can’t find it and give him better advice because I think there is a technical limit on a robot noticing the subtle changes of a student’s look.

Second, the cost for human English teachers is regular all year round. However robots may break down and need unexpected expenses. And to fix the broken robots will cost a lot. So, human English teachers are better for schools than robot teachers.

Third, I think that twenty years will have passed soon. At present, in almost all schools human teachers teach English to students. If a school wants to introduce a robot teacher into their school’s classes, it will cost a lot of money for the robot and the equipment for it: a device for charging batteries of the robots, the space to put the robots in, and so on. I think many schools won’t use robot English teachers, and the current situation won’t change within at least twenty years.

In conclusion, I think English schools will continue to employ human English teachers and it is good for schools and students.

english teachers in the future

English teachers in the future   Momoka MUTO

When we learn something new, we need models, examples, or teachers who can teach the subject. If we think so, maybe we can say teachers are essential for learning and text books are also a kind of teacher. Then, if we didn’t have human teachers in school, what kinds of teachers would there be? They are probably robots or AI. However, I don’t think that robot teachers will be introduced in education, especially, in a school. That means, human teachers will remain in the classroom in twenty years’ time and even much. There are reasons why I think so.

First, the task of teachers isn’t only teaching subjects but also taking care of students and understanding students. Education doesn’t only mean teaching. Therefore, regardless of English, human teachers are needed for education in a school because robot teachers can’t understand the emotions and thoughts of humans at this stage.

The second reason is connected with the first reason. That is conversation with students. The harder students learn a subject, the more questions they have and they will ask them to teachers to improve. Moreover, some students don’t understand which parts of the subjects they can’t understand the most so teachers have to reveal the problems that they have. Even if robot teachers can answer some questions which have already been programmed in, they wouldn’t be able to deal with such problems.

Although the first and second reasons are mainly involved with education, the third one is for English teaching. This is the differences of pronunciation. These days, a lot of kinds of English and their pronunciations are emphasized day by day because of a sense of value which puts importance into differences. There are as many kinds of pronunciation as there are teachers. Then, students can learn various pronunciations. In this current world, such a realization of English is important for communicating with other people when we use English as a global language.

For these three reasons, I think there will still be a need for English teachers in the classroom in twenty years’ time.

How I get my inspiration

When I want to get inspiration, I have several ways.
Travel, read books, do something new I haven’t done.
Travel teaches me diversity and the nature. Books give me great thoughts of authors. Doing something new gives me new experiences.
They take me to the new places and stimulate my inspiration. All of them give me new ideas.

How I can get my inspirations

There are many inspirations around me such as friends, teachers and people who achieved great thing. In addition, I think it is important to meet new things I would like to do. I usually use SNS like Instagram or Twitter to find them and sometimes I am inspired by them. I also take a trip to somewhere I didn't now before and meet new people. Then I talk with them and I can get a lot of knowledge. inspirations make my life better.

How I Can Get My Inspirations

When I want to get some inspirations, I take a public bath. This is the final weapon to bear them.

I think to get some inspirations, we need to relax, see and talk. When we think a lot, we can’t see neighborhood. If the answer exists such as mathematics, we need to continue to think many times, but inspirations or ideas don’t have absolute answer. Therefore, once we encounter difficulties, I think we need to switch off, forget the problem and relax. Once we do, some ideas or inspirations come to us. Therefore, I think relaxing has the strongest effect to get some inspirations. When I take a pubic bath, my body is the most relaxed. When we go there, we can see many things and talk to many people. Threfore, we can learn good or bad behavior and find materials to create from them. I think public bathes have all things we require to live.

For this reason, my way of getting some inspirations is taking a public bath.

How I Get My Inspiration

Taking a lot of exercise is my favourite way to get my inspiration because which can almost burn off  all of my energy. When I stuck in some trouble, I always directly go to gym to exhaust myself. Indeed, after that, I prefer to go to sleep immediately. The following morning, I definitely wake up with full of motivation to retreat the real life. In addition, I am looking forward to talking with strangers in the future to acquire my inspiration as people tend to be friendly and enthusiastic between strangers.

How to get my inspiration

To get my inspiration,I like shutting myself up in small space and shut down any noises. It is much better if its a little dark. (This may give you an negative impression of me (^^;;))Such spaces make me relax and I can concentrate on thinking about something. When I was a kid,I like such small and dark places especially a closet (“oshiirein Japanese)and sometimes make a secret hideout in such a space and enjoy my time with a small light. In small and dark place I can feel there is my own world and relax. So I can thinking about something imaginatively and sometimes come up with a good idea.
I also like lying on the bed and close my eyes to get an inspiration. If I shut out any sight in front of me,there are no extra information and I can think over one thing.
Anyway, the most important thing for me to get my inspiration is the environment I can concentrate on only thinking quietly.

How can I get my inspiration

When I want to get my inspiration, I watch movies all over the world. I have watched movies produced in Japan, China, Italy, France, India, Iceland, United States and so on. If the scenario of the movie is boring, I can learn these countries' culture like clothes, music, food and common sense. By watching movie, I can think of many things about my life or this society.
See the source imageSee the source image

How can I get inspiration

What I often do when I want to get some ideas is just waiting until I come up with somethings haha:) For example, when I have to write a paper. The more I think about it, the more I’ll be confused, so I just wait.
However, I sometimes see arts and pictures other people painted and read some books in order to get inspiration when I paint a picture in my free time. By doing so, I can imagine and compose what I will paint!

How can I get inspiration

when I want to get inspiration, I always go to café in order to take my mind off.  To brainstorm, put myself in different situations is very important.  I would rather go to café than the library, because in the library the air is stagnant and I often feel sick there.  While I listen my favourite music and drink cafe latte, good idea naturally came to me.  When I come up with a interesting idea,  I write down it on the smartphone to record my idea, otherwise I would forget everything.

How to get inspiration

I get inspiration by reading books about Chinese philosophy. My speciality is Japanese calligraphy and kinetics of arts, and Chinese classics inspire me strongly. Especially Lao Zi is very important. He suggested essential keys and influenced the educated historically through Taoism. Also, I am excited when I read his works. I would like to connect his idea with philosophy about body and motion in my graduation thesis.

The proverb I agree with

The proverb I agree with is "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". I think this proverb gives us the reason why we try to do something and hope that we will succeed. This proverb also means "don't give up", I think. This thinking have effect to succeed something hard. I overcame many hard experiences when I was a member of baseball club and I understood that giving up is not necessary. So, I think all people should bear in their mind this proverb.

proverb

I agree with this proverb, “A picture is worth a thousand words”
Maybe I can say this proverb in another way, “Seeing is believing.” For example, sometimes, I try to explain how interesting place New Zealand is to my family, but they can’t understand all things what I wanted to tell. Then, I use pictures to help them understand easily. I think this proverb is so effective and truth:)

Proverb I agree with

The proverb I agree with is ‘ Rome wasn’t made in a day’. I like this because it really cheer me up. I have several goals, but I sometimes feel really anxious about my ability because it is far away from those goals. For example, one of my goals is to make a YouTube video of dancing. I really like dancing and I want to spread my favorite artists’ songs by dancing then. It is not easy to make such a video,, but I can keep doing hard by this proverb.

Proverbs I agree with

Time is money
Money is power
Might is right
I strongly agree with these three proverbs. These are linked and all of them are persuasive. First, using time efficiently makes money. Thenpeople who have money will also have power and fame. At last, what they said is always dealt as a right thing.
I wanna make the most of this lesson in my life.

A proverb I agree with

‘Nothing ventured, nothing gained’ is the proverb I agree with.
If I do not take risk and decide my limit, I can not do my best and I throw my possibility.
The biggest risk is not taking any risk. In a world that’s changing really quickly, the only strategy guaranteed to fail is not taking risks. (Mark Zuckerberg)

A Proverb I agree with

I agree with  “Practice Makes Perfect” because I have some experiences about this. When I was a high school student, we had quite many tests every month, but some of my friends didn’t study for that since they didn’t need any score and only they had to do was studying for the entrance exam. I had to study for all tests because I needed good scores to be chosen as a candidate by high school principal. Through studying for all tests, I could be chosen and I could get good score on entrance exams as well. While studying for the entrance exam, I had been thinking that this effort would be my strength and I believe my dream realized by struggling everyday.

A Proverb I Agree with

extremely agree with ‘Rome was not built in a day.’. To be honest, I have already kept it as my motto when I was a child. It reminded me thinking of a really funny story which happened in my primary school. I wanted to take part in a composition competition in order to get the prize of Lego. Then I had read many composition references to prepare the contest, however, I seldom read any literature before the competition. Unsurprisingly, I have failed in the contest. That definitely gave me a vivid lesson which is ‘Rome was not built in a day.’. No shortcuts. From then on, it has become my motto until now.

A Proverb I agree with

I agree with the proverb " Practice makes perfect". I think this proverb will fit with everyone such as students, workers and sport players. If you are a student, you have to study to realize your dream. If you are a worker, you have to become accustomed to contents of your work. If you are a sport player, you have to practice so that you can win the match. I think when you want to improve something whatever it is, you only have to continue to practice it. (Although I cannot do such a thing...)

A Proverb I Agree With

A proverb I agree with is when in Rome, do as the Romen do.
I'm in New Zealand different from Japan. History, food, manner and many other things are included. If we continue to have feelings we do in Japan, we can't live comfortably. To make matters worse, we are likely to be arested. Eating foreign foods or studying foreign history can be thought we learn foreign culture, so I think people get interested in foreign country and we are here.
Therefore, I think when in Rome ,do as the Romen do is the most important proverb now.

A proverb I agree with

A proverb I agree with is Nothing ventured, nothing gained. This proverb means we have to take a risk in order to get something good. I dont like taking risks but without taking risks we cant get something good forever. Like this proverb, I will try a lot of things even though I have little chance to get something good.

the proverb I agree with

A proverb I agree with is “a picture is worth a thousand words”. Before coming to Dunedin, I knew little about Dunedin and many people said” Dunedin is a rural area and doesn’t have many buildings or the places where we can spend all day long”. However, after coming here and spending a few weeks, this town is actually small but relaxing place and people are very openhearted. I think this town is good for me to live in. I found that visible images have much stronger power than invisible words through my experience.
