Ultimate
DOTA Tournament
It is believed that emotion can make lives move forward,
but what kind of emotion is the most suitable for me? I had been spending time considering
this question for many years. Eventually, I found my answer because of an unexpected
journey.
When
I became a high school student, I was selected for many crucial roles, i.e., a
class president, a captain in many sports clubs and an assistant for a student
council. Obviously, I would prefer to refuse all challenging tasks, but I had
no choice because to respect democracy is my motto. Afterwards I had a lot of
opportunities to learn relationship skills in many situations. As a result, I learnt
that there were some activities which could encourage many students before they
graduated. While I was preparing for the final examination in a computer lab at
night, some teachers asked me about the last activity as a member of the student
council. After hearing that question, I knew that I should do something in a
different way in order to make the next activity become one of the most
precious memories for many students. I decided my answer immediately, and all of
teachers seemed totally surprised because they did not expect that I would
select a completely different answer from many students. Indeed, my answer was to
hold a computer game tournament.
After
finishing the final examination, many students received a strange invitation.
The invitation was issued to join the ultimate computer game tournament,
Defence of the Ancients which is known as DOTA. It is a multiplayer online
battle arena modification for the video game Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. I
knew that all invitations would definitely be accepted. All participants had to
do was group up as five players and sign up in a computer lab after school. The
rule for that tournament was absolutely simple; we had to fight until the last
team left. Furthermore, I announced that every team had potential to encounter
many rematches because of a switch round rule. A computer lab was used for 3
days because all players needed some rest after every match. Even though holding
a computer game tournament was an insane idea which had never appeared in the pages
of our school history before, it is a true story that an assistant of the student
council to hold a computer game tournament in high school was essential,
especially as that activity began at night. Obviously, I joined the DOTA tournament, but my team
had to withdraw from the tournament due to the fact that there was a problem
with the school website. Even though I could not win the tournament, I was
totally satisfied because my idea was accepted. Moreover, I had many
opportunities to observe plethora of strategies in the DOTA tournament. After I
graduated, a DOTA tournament has been held every year.
In
the end, I acknowledged that students’ enthusiasm always support positive
initiatives and positive feelings shall encourage our well-being.
Your writing was always attractive for me. That's rihgt, I agree with your conclusion.
