English in the Future

I think English will continue to be a global language in the future and more people will use English for work, education, and so on so long as the USA is the biggest country in the field of economic. If China became the biggest one, Chinese would be a global language in this world.
In any case, however, a global language will change in the future. For example, some people find difficulties in pronunciation in English. For such people, English as a lingua franca will be more simple to understand and use than now, and the own English of the countries(e.g. British English, Singaporean English, Indian English) will have importance as cultures or something traditional.

  1. It is interesting how more people have been studying Chinese as China's economic strength has grown. My daughter's high school, for instance, now offers Chinese as a foreign language classes. It is reasonable to believe that such classes will continue to grow in popularity.

  2. I agree that the pronunciation of English will have changed in hundreds years ago. Good examples for the prediction of English changes.

  3. I agree with the idea that English as a lingua franca will be more simple to understand and use. If it happens in today's world, we can use English easily.

  4. I have the same opinion with you that the country which has something biggest, like the economical power or the population, their language would be the global language.
