I think English will continue to be a global language. Lately, of course, Chinese speakers are increasing. And more and more companies of many countries expand their business to China now because China has a large labor. However, I think the Chinese speakers are almost only near or in China and a part of people in the developed countries. The main reason Chinese speakers are increasing is that the population of China is increasing. Moreover Chinese characters are so many that it must be difficult to learn Chinese for many people. On the other hand, English has only twenty-six characters so it is easy not only to remember but also to teach. Now English is a global language and is taught in elementary school, junior high school, high school, and university of many countries. Though they may use English as a second language, many people around the world are using English. So I think the present situation that English is a global language won’t change so easily in 200 years.
I agree with your opinion. I think Chinese is more difficult to learn as a second language than English.
ReplyDeleteI also think Chinese characters are difficult for other people, especially who live in English-speaking countries because it is difficult to write even we Japanese:(
ReplyDeleteWhether the languages will be a global language rely on the wars or economics. I agree that English will be remain a second language in the future.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your idea. Chinese have a lot of Chinese characters and learning them by heart will be difficult for people in the world.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinion and it would take more than 200 years to change current language situation since there are too many people who had been studying English now.
ReplyDeleteI think your opinion is interesting.I think pronunciation in Chinese is difficult too.
