Yurina Kittaka

ABOUT ME

My name is Yurina. I’m from Japan and my hometown is Hiroshima. It is located in bottom of the main island of Japan. I’d lived with my parents, two brothers and  grandparents before moving to Osaka to go to the university. And we also have two cute dogs, Bon and Nene. They are old, but both of them like eating very much.

Even though I go to the language centre as international student now, I’m also an university student. My university is in Osaka where is the second largest city in Japan. My major is commerce and I study about accounting, marketing, business and so on. In the future, I want to study about marketing more and get a job which is related to it. Meanwhile, I play badminton once a week in university club. This club has lots of events so I could make good friends there.

My hobby is watching movies. When I was in Japan, I often watched Japanese movies at my house. But now I’m trying to watch several kinds of foreign movies here to study English. So if you know good movie, please tell me!

Arum Yony

My name is Arum. I’m from Seoul, South Korea. I’ve worked for primary school teacher for twelve years. Especially I was interested in how teach music to children more interestingly and sensitively. I’m taking a leave for this year. I’ve come Dunedin with my son last January, then we’re going to stay here until next January. My son attends the George street normal school year 4.  My husband is in Seoul.

I’ve been studying at University Otago language centre for 3 months, and I’m going to study for 2 weeks more. After finishing course, I want to learn how to  golf and go to tracking courses in Dunedin to experience New Zealand nature. As well as I’ll study by myself.

My passion is learning instruments. Although I’m not a professional player, I really enjoy playing the piano, the cello, the guitar and  the gayageum which is the Korean traditional instrument. The process of making sound by myself is amazing. When I play instruments, I can feel vibration of instruments’ body. I love that.

I like to go to the  concert, also. I’m used to go to the concert once a month. While looking at that musicians are concentrating on music, listening live music is wonderful time. It feels as if it takes me to another world. The Seoul art centre concert hall is my favourite place in Seoul.

Kayo Shigehisa

About Me

I am Kayo Shigehisa.  I came from Japan.  I was born in Saga prefecture, but now I live in Osaka with my family.  I am an university student in my country.  My major is international relations, and my minor is Japanese for foreign people.  Also, I am interested in education in particular early child education.  I have been to kinder garden and primary school in New Zealand.  I could have wonderful time with many children. 

I have four members in my family: father, mother, two years younger sister and me.  My father works at an airport as an air traffic engineering specialist.  My mother does not have any job, but she always supports us in our home.  My sister has just started to study cultural design at university.  I am really proud of their work. 

My future plan is to work as a teacher in other countries especially in Thai land, because this is one of the Japanese friendly countries I think.  In addition, it is easy to go back to Japan when my family have a trouble.
