An old hand

 An old hand I have known is my grandmother who had been a boss of stationery shop for over 30 years. She was an old hand at the job. Especially she used on the abacus when she calculated big number quickly, it was extremely amazing. As well as she calculated how much the plenty of paper exactly.  She had unbelievable memory. She achieved so much stuff that my family always appreciate for her.

I would like to talk about an old hand I have known. My mother is an old hand about crocheting and knitting. She likes to crochet and knit. For example, she would often give a hand-knitted muffler and beret to me in winter. I like her works!

Whenever I ask my mother how to crochet and knit, she gives me some explanations which are easy to understand.

Last year, I got my mother to teach how to knit with needles. It was more difficult than crocheting for me but I enjoyed it. I think I want to learn about how to knit something new from her.

An old hand I have known is my grandmother. My family runs a company that produces clothes of security guards. It have started with my grandparents and they still works there. Especially my grandmother has a great technique. She can sew the clothes with a sewing machine dexterously and quickly because she has been sewing the clothes for a long time. Nobody can use sewing machine like her in my family. That's why I think she is an old hand.

A dark horse I have known

I will introduce a dark horse I have known in this blog.  The person is my younger sister.  The reason why is that she did not pass the university entrance exam that she really want to go, but as a result, she got a chance to study there as same as other students.

Actually, she had taken various type of entrance exam many times for half a year to enter the university, but unfortunately she could not pass them.  In addition, all tests were gone, so she decided to go another school that she had already obtained admission. However, she suddenly got an acceptance letter from the school before five days when the entrance ceremony is held.  The reason why is that a student seemed to quit to study in the university, and she could have a chance instead of the person.

Anyway, she was so lucky, and no one expected about that.  But, I am sure she has something special ability at important events in her life.  It is not only this case.  I think we could say she is a dark horse.
